There's A New Girl In Town
I had to post this picture of Hatsune Miku in her most recent outfit in order for this post to make sense. Do you notice the colors of her hair and outfit? There's a lot of teal and black there, which is what I thought of when I first saw this car on the lot Monday afternoon...As of today, Akeno has been replaced with this lovely Mini Cooper S convertible I've named Miku. It was an even swap, but the extended warranty set me back enough money to buy five Peleton bikes. I don't mind the extra expense at all. This is the kind of car I'll own until it's totaled in an accident or I surrender my driver's license.
Or as I so eloquently told a sales rep that was on the fence over buying his dream muscle car, "If you love her enough, you'll put up with any shit she gives you."
If you've followed my blogging for the past half decade then you know this was my dream car, and by that I mean I'm dreaming I'd fit in the driver's seat without losing a lot of weight. That's why today was such an emotional roller coaster. About an hour before I was scheduled to arrive at the dealership, I broke down in tears. I wasn't sad over trading in Akeno. Those were tears of happiness because it was at that moment when I realized I had achieved the impossible dream: I lost enough weight to become a Mini Cooper owner.
Not all is well with Miku, though. I'll have to take her back to the dealership to resolve an issue I found after the purchase, but I have no intention of returning her. Not after I drove for a few miles with the top down on my way home from the clothing store. Y'all will have to pry the John Cooper Works steering wheel from my cold, dead fingers before that happens.
Love will make you do things, that's for sure.
I LOVE her!! The color is gorgeous. Congratulations on making this dream come true!!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you enjoy it!!!! It's a pretty color. I too always wanted a mini Cooper....but when I test drove one last time...couldn't stand the handling....a rough ride too...and not to quite. So I went with another Mazda as you know. The Mx-5. It's been great....and love the silhouette and quite. I've had it five years already and not one issue. Now Im starting to look at new Madza again. I only keep cars about five years
