Reborn As An Early Retiree, I Now Wander America’s Costliest City: Volume 3, Chapter 1

WHAT’S ON MY MIND

Illness. I have so far tested negative for COVID, but something is up. My quality of sleep has suffered and now I’m paying for it. I also don’t know if I have a nasty head cold or if my seasonal allergies have entered the chat.

From the jaw down I feel fantastic, but my head feels likes Harley Quinn’s baseball bat used my forehead for batting practice. Only via trial and error will I figure out what’s up. I’m crossing my fingers it’s just sinus pressure.

WHAT I ATE

A cauliflower crust roasted veggie pizza from Sprouts. It was quite tasty after I added a diced roma tomato, parsley and a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese to it.

WHAT I BOUGHT

I went a second week without buying anything significant. Now there’s a symptom of illness!

WHAT SACRED TEXTS I READ

  • Combatants Will Be Dispatched!, Volume 10
  • Tamon’s B-Side, Volume 5
  • I Have A Crush At Work, Volume 5
  • Fairy Tale Team-Up: Robyn Hood and Mystere

Also in progress from J-Novel Club…

  • The Royal Hostage Has Vanished: The Black Wolf Yearns For The Persecuted Princess, Volume 2
  • The Hero And The Sage: Reincarnated And Engaged, Volume 2
  • The Poison King: Now That I’ve Gained Ultimate Power, The Bewitching Beauties In My Harem Can’t Get Enough Of Me, Volume 2
  • An Introvert’s Hookup Hiccups: This Gyaru Is Head Over Heels For Me!, Volume 8 (Waiting for the next translated volume)
  • Duchess In The Attic, Volume 2

WHAT I WATCHED

The Fall anime season has started, and 365 Days To The Wedding grabbed my attention. That one’s about two platonic office workers that enter into a fake marriage to prevent one of them from being transferred outside of Japan on a job assignment. It’s my kind of dumpster fire rom-com.

WHAT MADE ME LAUGH

It wasn’t a bad week, but nothing noteworthy made me laugh other than anime.

WELCOME TO SLAPSVILLE…

Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce. At the beginning of the week, AP liked a tweet suggesting Davante Adams should be traded. Now there’s this shit storm about Tae getting traded to the Jets, the Saints, or somewhere else, and I’m not happy. I just bought Tae’s jersey last month!

In Vegas they usually break fingers in a darkened back room when you cheat at the casino. That sounds like an appropriate punishment here.

A FIST BUMP GOES TO…

Sadly, I don’t have anyone this week. Finally…

WHAT’S UP WITH MY HEALTH

I lost 1.2 pounds this week, so I’m down to 257.8. Hopefully I'll keep my weight down as I recuperate from whatever's ailing me.

Comments

  1. Could it be seasonal allergies? Fall is usually my time to have it. Right now I have a headache and a scratchy throat, but that's usually par for the course for me in October. But maybe out in California, it is different than it is here in the fall.

    1. I was leaning towards seasonal allergies, but it's very possible I'm having a delayed response to the flu shot. Or maybe it's something else? I'm sure I'll know by Monday.

  2. Hopefully it's just allergies. I hope you feel better soon. It's never fun not feeling well.

    1. I hope so too. I think a lack of sleep plus the stress I've endured for the past three weeks is also a contributing factor.
