WHAT’S ON MY MIND

Besides posting on Friday night instead of Saturday morning? My writing. 

As much as I enjoyed writing an age gap romance novel last year, when I look at it from a time-cost perspective I don’t want to resume editing. Even if I find a publisher or self publisher, I still have to spend both time and money marketing the book. Chances are any royalties I’d earn won’t cover a typical for me Williams Sonoma shopping trip. 

I still might write something new for (Not) NaNoWriMo. More on that soon.

WHERE I WENT & WHAT I ATE

Last Sunday I visited an old haunt for the first time in three decades. Instead of the usual pub fare, I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with sliced avocado, French fries, and two glasses of pinot grigio. 

I needed the latter to prepare myself for the Raiders - Rams game. In hindsight, I probably should’ve had a third glass. The Raiders were that bad.

WHAT I BOUGHT

This gorgeous Dia de Los Muertos themed mug from Williams Sonoma. Now I can enjoy The Day Of The Dead with my coffee anytime I want.

WHERE I’M GOING

Bert offered to let me hang out at his place on Halloween, and I just might take him up on his offer. Before the pandemic, I usually gave out candy at his place while he got shit faced drunk. I wouldn’t mind doing that again on Thursday, and I’ll mask up when I answer the door.

WHAT I LISTENED TO

On Wednesday I defiled Miku’s speakers with Cliff Burton era Metallica, and I balanced that with The Steve Miller Band on Friday afternoon. I tend to keep things relatively mellow with Artoria. We listened to Triumph, Yanni and various anime theme songs throughout the week.

WHAT MADE ME LAUGH

Aussie Supercars drivers with potty mouths. The “race radio” highlights after races are quite entertaining to watch. I believe Cam Waters has the dirtiest mouth of the bunch. You can find these short video clips on the Supercars YouTube channel. 

WHAT I RETURNED TO ON A LIMITED BASIS

Reddit. I created a new burner account to join only two subs: MINI and Big Dick Problems. 

The first one is self explanatory. The second one is to help fellas with things like body dysphoria, finding the right size condom, and give advice on various topics posted by both men and women.

As you can imagine, my DMs are quite interesting. Moving on…

A FIST BUMP GOES TO…

Costco. I topped off Artoria’s gas tank before sunrise this morning, and I believe I only paid $4.56 a gallon for 91 octane. On the flip side, I topped off Miku at Chevron in the afternoon to the tune of $5.19 a gallon. At least I didn't wait in a 40 minute line.

WHAT’S UP WITH MY HEALTH

I’m up to 259.2 as of this morning, and I’m thrilled with that. Really, I am. I lifted heavier weights this week and the 0.2 pound I gained was all muscle. As an older gent, this should be celebrated.

I’m also burning fewer calories during Zumba due to a lower heart rate and better overall fitness. Maybe I’m ready for a 45 minute class on Monday morning?
