Random Thoughts On A New Year's Eve Eve

I suppose I need to get this out of the way first, y'all. A few hours after I had a great lunch, copious amounts of beer and a heart to heart talk with Bert at this charming dive bar, I contacted The Muse. The time apart did wonders for our attitudes, and our chat also made me remember that my most fulfilling relationships occurred when the woman is both my best friend and my partner.

That's why I don't mind taking things slow with The Muse. She cares about me, and is enthusiastic whenever we ask about each other's activities. Her work projects. My new novel. Her dog sitting. My strength gains. You get the idea. It's that give and take that makes me want to do my best, to impress her, and show her that I'm worthy of her trust. More on that later.

Considering she's quite the introvert, it thrills me when I can "hear" the smile on her lips when she opens up to me.

Fitbit has a new cardio load goal, and mine's confirmed what I already assumed. I'm overtraining based on my age and other factors. As much as I loved Zumba, I'll have to stop doing it and resume riding my exercise bike three days a week.

I have no plans on New Year's Eve, but I do have resolutions!

I'll finish this weight loss journey within a year. My life has already changed so much that I can't wait to see what happens once I lose the rest of this excess weight.

I'll make The Muse the happiest woman walking the earth. I highly suspect she's been deeply wounded by past relationships. Bert doesn't know the tea, and I'm not about to pry into her business. I'll just concentrate on giving her reasons to smile and show her I'm not like those other men.

I'll travel to somewhere in California or Nevada once a month during the first half of 2025. It would be a great way to dip my toes into the traveling waters after such a long absence.

I'll get this new novel published. The more time I spend on the prep work, the more excited I feel about its potential. This story is begging to be told, and I hope there's a publisher out there that agrees with me.

That's all I got for 2024. Be safe, y'all.

  1. Well, I have no resolutions for the New Year except to just Carry on! Maybe do more exercise, wo knows. Although doc says I'm in good shape for not working out much. I look out the window and see people running, jogging, playing tennis and pickleball, and it makes me think I should really walk to the other side of the house another a gin and tonic. Warbucks tried to get me one of those watches or fitbits or some shit the other day, that tells you how many steps in you did, and how much sleep you get and so forth. I said, Why?

Happy New Year to you too!!!🎉✨🎆🎊🎇
