Random Thoughts On A Thorsday

Before I begin, I need to let y'all know I'm sending Christmas cards this year! If I don't already email you on a semi regular basis, please review my updated profile and shoot me an email ASAP so you don't miss out. I'll be mailing them out early next week so they have a fighting chance to arrive in time.

Okay, lets get on with this Thorsday...

Last night I spoke with The Muse and we cleared the air about a lot of things. I now understand that the slugfest I had with malaise on Sunday was pure folly on my part. I'll never do that again.

Work is indeed stressing her out, and she often works up to twelve hours a day on a project. I was concerned I'd be a pest or a nuisance if I bothered her too much, but she confirmed ever so sweetly that I'm a welcome distraction. I'm thankful for this, and I won't be so "hands off" anymore.

I worry about The Muse's health, but she brushes off my offer of assistance. She's very prideful about doing things for herself. She also has an analytical approach to just about everything, as expected for someone highly intelligent... or is she a fellow Virgo? I haven't asked her when her birthday is, but I wouldn't be shocked if she is one. We're so alike in various ways that it's both thrilling and terrifying at the same time.

I also have yet to ask her her how tall she is. I estimate she's five nine, possibly five ten. I'm five six and I don't care that she's taller than me... and neither does she for that matter.

After I said goodnight to The Muse, I reported to Bert that all is well. He jokingly said I should start looking at engagement rings, and I told him it's way, way, way too early for that! I know I can afford a Neil Lane Couture ring, but...

Ara, ara! Did I just admit I'm wavering in my stance that I'd never get married after my engagement fiasco three decades ago?

I held off on buying the fondue pot at Williams Sonoma, but today might be that day. My concerns are that it will be used for a maximum of four people, and I may cook a variety of things in it, not just cheese. I even found this pizza fondue recipe that I'd love to try.

Damn. I had breakfast an hour ago and I'm getting hungry again!

  1. It sounds like things are going well. Communication is the most important thing when starting a new relationship so you avoid all of the confusing emotions of the unknown. I would love a fondue pot also but I don't see us having much need for one. I have very fond memories of my grandparents having one and we had all kinds of sweet and savory dishes with it. Enjoy the rest of your week!!
