Random Thoughts Before A Trip

I’d probably get in a ton of trouble if I call this post “Boy, he’s packing!” but that’s what I did. I spent Saturday making preparations for my upcoming trip.

The red flag warning issued for Monday will end on Tuesday night, so I’ve decided to drive Miku after all. She has a full tank of gas and I’ve checked her oil level and tire pressures. She’s ready to go.

I spent Saturday night packing and repacking a carry on bag to get the most out of its interior space. Oh, wait. I didn’t mention I smoked my debit card at the TUMI store again? Well, the more I thought about this week’s trip I realized that the rolling suitcase I bought earlier is better suited for a 3+ night stay. I bought it’s smaller cousin this morning, a carry on bag that matches it for $1,195. Ara ara!

I soon discovered this carry on bag has one of those exterior USB ports to charge things. A brand new USB power bank will be delivered to my front porch by the time you read his, and once it’s fully charged it will be stashed in an interior compartment to recharge my phone, my Bose earbuds, and anything else that I’m bringing with me.

My TUMI blue camouflage “work” laptop backpack is also coming out of retirement for this trip. I can stash my Surface Pro 7 and its charger and mouse in the laptop compartment, a protected bottle of wine in its other interior compartment, plus all of my electronics stuff with room to spare. I’m glad I never got rid of it.

And now the wait to hit the open road begins…

  2. Not to panic you, but if you thought this was stressful packing when you have the luxury to take more luggage and pack more...wait till you have to fly somewhere! Oh boy!
