Random Thoughts On A Monday Night

This is my haul from the bookstore last Saturday, and I have thoughts and feelings about it.

Men's Health isn't that informative. I think it's geared toward people whose entire existence is eating fast food and haphazardly exercising. I don't think I'll buy this magazine again. Wine Enthusiast and Writer's Digest are must reads for obvious reasons.

This is the first time I've read Conde Nast Traveler, and right now I'm overwhelmed. All of these places around the globe are suddenly attainable. If I took an international trip during the second half of 2025, where would I go? Perhaps the better question is, where do I begin?

I started reading Wuthering Heights this afternoon, yet another classic book that was never assigned reading in any of my AP English Lit classes. I'm already hooked but I couldn't stop giggling whenever Bronte described someone's speech as ejaculated twice in the first two chapters. Ara ara!

I took Miku to the dealership to address her window gap issue. I suspected the aftermarket glass was the culprit and I was correct. The technician did what he could to align it gratis, but I was advised if the remaining window gap becomes a chronic problem I should drop her off at a collision center to have it replaced with an OEM window. For now, I'll see how Miku handles our rainy season and the car wash before I spend that kind of money on her.

I talked to Bert about The Muse. While I'm glad I've detached myself from the situation, I've decided to leave the door ajar. I believe her current financial situation is much worse than she's letting on. There's no other man in her life, and I also can't discount the possibility there's an attachment disorder at play here. Assuming I'm not with anyone else, I'll give her another shot if she reaches out to me somewhere down the road.

I'm glad the Las Vegas Raiders may give Antonio Pierce another season as head coach. Yes he made some mistakes, but the team did him a disservice with the roster they handed him. No viable starting quarterback or running back for starters, and then there were the injuries that wiped out a lot of the skill positions.

I hope things improve next season. I still believe AP can get the job done if given a fair chance.

  1. You have me wondering, When was the last time I bought a magazine? I honestly can't recall. I used to get upwards of 9 different magazines in the mail.
