Random Thoughts On A Late Sunday Night

I just started prepping for Palm Springs and I’ve already booked my next getaway for the end of March. It should shock no one that I’m headed back to Temecula. It’s fun, relatively inexpensive and a break from the mundane. The hotel room is $10 more per night on this stay, but I’m not complaining. I’m there for the experiences outside the hotel, after all.

One reason why I’m returning to Temecula is Callaway Winery’s Legacy Assorted Wine Club. Variety is the spice of life so I’ll leave it up to the winemaker if I get whites, reds, or a dessert style wine as part of my two bottle “shipment” every other month. I can either have them shipped to Le Crash Pad or pick them up in person, which is preferable.

As part of the deal I’ll get complimentary wine tastings every visit, discounts for the gift shop and Meritage restaurant, and other perks. I just noticed I have two empty spaces in my coffee table wine racks. Perhaps I should drive up there, sign up and then do a little sipping, shopping and dining this week?

Due to what I’ll call “bottle transportation concerns” I’ll drive Artoria to Palm Springs. The weather forecast upon my arrival is sunny and high 80s, which makes Miku a poor choice for this getaway. I can stash the Callaway Harmonique in Artoria’s passenger foot well and keep it cool with the AC running. I hope that’s the outcome in that Mojave Desert heat.

I’d hate to serve Spo a pricey, bottled version of Liquid Death instead of what I drank during the past week. That would really suck.

  1. I think if I was you I'd move to Temecula. Who needs the high price of San Deigo?

    2. Temecula is very high on my list of places to relocate to in the coming years, and I agree about the wine. If all else fails, my hotel is close to a Total Wine!
