Artoria and I made it to our hotel at four on the nose, but quite a bit happened before then. I missed my weight training workout due to the annual blooming of the weeds and crab grass in the backyard, so my workout consisted of spending forty five minutes with action hoe not to be confused with a 304.
I arrived at The Old Town Pub a few minutes late for a scheduled, unhealthy lunch. The beer was a Firestone Walker 805, or simply an 805, and it really hit the spot with this blackened chicken sandwich and French fries.
The clientele is a motley mixture of retirees, bikers, and blue collar workers enjoying a bite to eat. Despite lacking in the ink department myself, the people there really made me feel welcome. That's why I decided to add some merch to my tab.
On a whim, I decided to get in my weight training workout at the hotel once I was unpacked. That required a trip to Dick's Sporting Goods for two pairs of lighter gloves. One for Le Crash Pad and another for wherever I may roam.
I committed myself to a forty five minute writing sprint, and that meant an iced coffee to kickstart my creative juices. I wrote 700+ words within that time frame, and I finished that chapter in roughly twenty minutes just before I started working on this post.
I changed plans at Total Wine and decided against getting a bottle of wine. I opted for a four pack of faux Cosmos in a can. They're not as good as the real thing, but with only 10g carbs per can and zero sugar I can accept the trade off. I also paired this cheese snack with one cup of salt free trail mix from Sprouts. These will be my in room provisions during my stay.
After the workout and a shower I dropped by Wahoo's for something different. To keep my caloric intake down I chose a protein bowl with spicy fish, sauteed vegetables and avocado slices. While it tasted good with the raspberry Bubly, it wasn't filling enough to satisfy my appetite. I'll likely opt for the two taco platter the next time I dine here.
It's not quite eight o'clock, and with today's chapter in the can I'm free to enjoy the rest of my evening. Video games? Reading? Anime? All of the above? I love having the freedom to do whatever I want for the next three to four hours.
Unhealthy or not.......that first picture looks amazing and mouthwatering! Enjoy the trip sweet cheeks!
ReplyDeleteI love blackened chicken. All of your food looks really good. I hope you have a relaxing yet fun adventure.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like your adventure is off to a good start! The food looks great.
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm seriously jealous, sweetpea! We drove through Temecula, but only the suburbs part (one freeway to the next) and didn't have time to really check out the city! I'm taking notes for our next getaway! xoxo
