Coming Home
You know it's been a rough day when Artoria's stellar gas mileage on the way home is the highlight. So, where do I begin? Might as well start from the beginning.
While taking my top of the morning piss I received a text from my sister telling me my brother was rushed to the hospital for a very serious health issue. He's still in the ER and the only question is whether or not I'll bury him this year. Please assume there's a lot more going on behind the scenes regarding his health.
Thursdays are my rest days so there was no morning walk or weight lifting after breakfast. I checked out of the hotel right after nine o'clock and Artoria and I narrowly escaped two possible wrecks. People don't know how to drive in the rain or stay the fuck off their smart phones.
USPS ignored my mail hold, so I came home to mail and one package stuck in the mail slot. I ordered a license plate frame for Artoria but the wrong one was received. Thankfully the seller is shipping the correct one at no extra cost, and I hope it arrives at the same time as the one I ordered for Miku.
Attached to my front door was a notice that my street is getting repaved sooner rather than later. Ara ara!
While doing my laundry I earned a couple of blisters on my thumb. I'll need to park Miku and Artoria in the dirt portion of the backyard off and on during the next month, so I used a broom to clear a large space of rocks, debris, and the odd piece of glass. Artoria has run flat tires, but I'm in no mood to test them out.
Not all is bad. I still have one glass of this week's bottle left to drink, and I now have a hockey puck sized chocolate truffle cheesecake to pair it with!
I am sorry to read about your brother and the ER. Never a dull moment.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Things are a bit rough right now.
DeleteOh no!! I read your posts all out of order. I hope things are ok. BIG hugs to you having to deal with this.
ReplyDeleteWell, they are but they aren't. Only time will tell. Thanks.
