Winners & Losers

It isn't just the stock market that has winners and losers every day. Life works that way too!

WINNER: Bella Pro 2-slice toaster ($34.99, Best Buy) I picked one up last night and I love how it toasts Thomas's English muffins just right with the bagel setting.

LOSER: I picked up a pre shave made with essential oils but I threw it out after one use out of fear it'd damage my ARC 5 shaver.

WINNER: When I use the ARC 5 without a pre shave lotion or Lectric Shave, it doesn't pull hairs or seriously irritate my skin like Norelco shavers did back in the day.

LOSER: Don't look at your 401k accounts, y'all. It's getting bad out there.

WINNER: I've settled on Dr. Scholl's heavy duty inserts to address my foot issue with my cross trainers. Now I don't need to buy new shoes.

LOSER: I can't buy any more wine until I start drinking my collection. The higher temperatures mean I have to store them in the fridge, and I have room for only four bottles.

WINNER: This week's bottle is great by itself, and also with chipotle gouda cheese and crackers. I still have to try it with salmon and chicken before I pass final judgment.

LOSER: Me? I got so far behind with my J-Novel Club reading that I had to drop all but one of the new series I picked up in recent weeks.

WINNER: I finished reading A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens last night, so I have the rest of the month to read whatever I want.

LOSER: As Spo said, it doesn't end well.

WINNER: Motorsport.TV is officially broadcasting Super GT with English commentary once again.

LOSER: How much will my annual subscription renew for tomorrow?

  1. The great thing about red wine is that you don’t have to keep it refrigerated!

    1. Unless you live in a home without AC. I noticed the indoor temperature was creeping up to 80 degrees so I had to put everything in the fridge so they wouldn't cook. That's the one drawback about this 2025 Wines challenge.

  2. How fun that you are reading a lot of old classics. I have a stack to read also but can't seem to find the time. Summer is coming and that is usually when I sit outside and read a lot. Have a great day.

    1. Oh I wish I had room here. I had to eject my KitchenAid stand mixer from the kitchen to make room for the toaster.
