Rebirth Of The Red Lantern: Volume 2, Chapter 12
WHAT’S ON MY MIND
Money matters. GTA Online has a new DLC called Money Fronts. I’ve blown about $18 million in virtual currency on new businesses, vehicles, and a police motorcycle. So far the new content has made the money grind over the past two weeks worth it.
In real life, the anniversary of my indexed annuity came and went. Three years after its inception it has gained 24% in value. I couldn’t be more pleased with that investment.
WHAT BOTTLE I OPENED THIS WEEK
2022 Danza del Sol Vermintino ($35). I gave this varietal a SATC name and for good reason. Check out the 2025 Wines page for the deets.
WHAT I BOUGHT
A bottle of Daou 2022 Reserve Chardonnay on sale. Normally this 91 rated wine is $52, but I found a bottle discounted to $39.99. Last month I really enjoyed Daou’s budget friendly Sauvignon Blanc, so I look forward to opening this bougie bottle in the coming weeks.
I also bought two new PS5 wireless controllers yesterday. The pair I had were wearing out and affected my recent GTA Online game play.
WHAT MADE ME HAPPY
The ensemble Chibi style anime Isekai Quartet will get a third season. I recommend this series to anyone that can watch Crunchyroll. It’s a good introduction to Overlord, The Saga of Tanya The Evil, KonoSuba, and Re: Zero (first season), plus The Rising Of The Shield Hero (second season).
Oh, I had a 7-0 record in Wordle this week. Yay!
WHAT I WATCHED
I finally got to watch the Padres on Saturday after a five day blackout break. Now I’m watching too many Padres losses. At least I get to message Bolt Man so we can share in our misery.

THE TOMMY MILNER SALUTE GOES TO…
Whoever didn’t warn SVG (Shane van Gisbergen) not to drink the water in Mexico this past weekend. Ara ara!
A FIST BUMP GOES TO…
SVG for winning the NASCAR Cup road race in Mexico while leaking out of both holes. Yes, that really happened on Sunday!
WHAT’S UP WITH MY WRITING
Upon my return home, I lost my motivation to edit the manuscript. I even considered shelving it at one point, but on Tuesday morning I came up with a different ending. It’s quite the plot twist that will likely enrage some readers, but sometimes you have to ruffle a few feathers to be heard. I’ll get back to work on it soon.
So glad your investments are doing well. That brings a good piece of mind, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a wine drinker but this is one I've actually tried. I think it was a gift from one of my doctors and I do remember really enjoying it.
A good plot twist is always fun.
Have a great Wednesday!!
Thanks! I have a special bottle I'm opening tonight and I must finish it before I depart on my overnight trip.
DeleteWe buy Daou as an everyday wine, but haven't tried any of their "bougie" wines yet! I only know THE SOULS OF BLACK FOLK on your list! My pile of TBR books is far too long these days, so you've given me inspiration to move it along, sweetpea! xoxo
DeleteI enjoyed the Du Bois book, but one chapter saddened me. When he talked about the struggle of making everything equal after the Civil War, that could be applied to every non-white group in America today. It's like same sh*t, different year. :-(
